ITRS autonomous power system
We gave a freight wagon its own power grid. Energy, automation and connectivity are built into the wagon itself — no locomotive supply, no charging infrastructure. Developed with Schaeffler and proven on a real freight route.

01 — The challenge
Freight wagons run without any electrical supply. Sensors, automation and telematics need power — without depending on the locomotive or on charging infrastructure.
02 — The solution
A complete onboard system, developed in a technology partnership with Schaeffler.
- Schaeffler axlebox generator — self-charging while the wagon runs
- Battery system for autonomous power
- Real Control — wagon automation with custom HMI
- RealConnect Bridge — LTE/5G onboard gateway
- RealConnect cloud platform — live data from the wagon, anywhere
03 — The impact
- Laboratory test on DIN EN 12082 test rig, 17 Mar – 27 Apr 2026
- Field test Borlänge – Oxelösund, Sweden, at −24 to +26 °C
- EC Type Examination by SIQ Ljubljana, NoBo 1304, module SB
- Compliant with EN 50155, EN 12080 and EN 50121-3-2
